Martin Brink was an attorney at law from 1975 until 2025 inclusive. Arbiter and neutral evaluator since 1985 and mediator since 2002. He was part of the lawfirm Van Benthem & Keulen in Utrecht, The Netherlands (active with corporate litigation, M&A(issues), directors and officers liability, codetermination and private equity). The last 20 years he concentrated on corporate mediation, i.e. disputes in or between organisations and contract issues between professional parties (B2B).
Martin obtained his law degree from the State University of Utrecht, The Netherlands. He received his PhD at Maastricht University in November 2018 on the topic of “Due Diligence”.
Martin is specialised in a.o. issues concerning liability of directors and officers, codetermination, governance within legal entities and private equity. Problems pertaining to warranties and representations in M&A contracts, earn-out issues and the termination of joint ventures. He has experience in disputes following insolvencies and more recently more recently involved in conflicts in the field of Intellectual Property, IT and AI.
As a mediator Martin has been accredited by the Dutch Mediation Institute (MfN), the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution in London (CEDR), and the Foundtion for Resolution of ICT Disputes at Amsterdam (SGOA)

Martin Brink is former substitute magistrate in the The Hague Court of Appeals in The Netherlands. He was a visiting professor at the Grotius Academy on the subject of the law on Inquiry into the state of affairs of companies and at Leiden University on the subject of International Commercial Arbitration and Litigation.
Martin held more positions as director or supervisory director (among others Baden Würtemberg L-Finance, Digital Equipment and Fujitsu Services) granting him direct insight in and affinity with organisations and their internal processes. He is the co-founder and former board member of the Foreign Banker’s Association in The Netherlands and one of the co-founders of what now is CMS Law & Tax. He is a former member of the Advisory Committee for the Dutch Government on the revision of the law on private limited companies, as well as the Advisory Committee on Mediation of the Dutch Bar and of the Advisory Committee of the International Bar Association on the IBA Rules for Investor-State Mediation.
Martin is Chairman of two Executive Committees (Kikkoman Foods Europe B.V. and Collewijn Group B.V.).
The leading international Guide “Who’s Who Legal” selected Martin as ‘leader in the field of mediation’ in the column ‘Most Highly Regarded Individuals’.
Martin is the author of various books and numerous other publications. He was a sworn in translator English/Dutch and Dutch/English and has working knowledge of French and German. He did mediations in a.o. Switzerland, Germany, Belgium and the United Kingdom in addition to his work in The Netherlands.
